Terra Tech Announces Plans to Apply for Medical Cannabis Permits in Nevada Forms Team Headed by Former ACLU Lobbyist

TRTC

Las Vegas, Jan. 29, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Terra Tech Corp  (TRTC), through their subsidiary GrowOp Technology, is pleased to announce they have formed a team focused on competing for permits to operate cannabis businesses within the state of Nevada.  The team is to be headed by former principal lobbyist for the ACLU at the Nevada state legislature Rebecca Gasca.

Rebecca Gasca is CEO of Pistil and Stigma, a values-driven community and government relations firm that focuses on legislative change, public policy, program development, fundraising, advocacy and public relations.  She is former Rotary International Goodwill Ambassador to Chile and recently served as a US State Department Legislative Fellow to Nepal.  In Nevada, she has lobbied successfully on hundreds of pieces of legislation and her firm worked closely on the medical marijuana dispensary legislation that was signed in to law by Republican Governor Brian Sandoval.

"We aligned ourselves with Rebecca due to her history of expertise in helping shape socially responsible legislation," says Derek Peterson, CEO Terra Tech Corp. "She has been on the ground floor in Nevada since the inception of their medical cannabis dispensary bill and was instrumental in its formation.  She is heading our team and assisting us in the formation of our applications.

The company plans on applying for both retail and cultivation permits to obtain vertical integration within the market.  If successful the company intends on building a food production facility in addition to produce fresh and locally grown herbs for sale into restaurants and casinos throughout Clark County.

"The indoor cultivation that you see taking place throughout the country is a drain on electricity as well as other natural resources," says Rebecca Gasca CEO of Pistil and Stigma.  "I chose to work with Terra Tech due to their commitment to sustainable agricultural practices as it relates to both food and cannabis.  Patients deserve to have access to quality medication grown in food grade quality facilities and our objective is to make Nevada the poster child for a program that is both patient and environmentally friendly."

Nevada plans on opening up the medical marijuana cultivation and application process during early summer 2014 and the company expects the state to award permits by the end of summer or early fall of this year.
