Rokmaster Resources (TSX:V.RKR, Stock Forum) advanced operations at the Pinaya Copper-Gold Project located in the Arequipa area, Peru, when the company announced today that it had commenced its first diamond drill program at the project.
According to the news release, on top of the aforementioned drill program, the company will also carry out additional exploration at Pinaya concurrently.
Company President and CEO, John Mirko, commented on the event, “We are excited to kickoff Rokmaster's first ever drill program. Initial targets will include expansion of both porphyry and skarn zones, oxide gold zones and new discoveries.”
He then went on to conclude, “We believe the Pinaya Property has the potential to be the next world class copper-gold deposit on the Andahuaylas-Yauri Porphyry Belt, together with GlencoreXstrata's producing Tintaya-Antapaccay Mine complex, First Quantum's Haquira Project, Hudbay's Constancia Project and the recently acquired US$5.85 billion Las Bambas Project by MMG Limited.”
Rokmaster was in the news recently when the company announced unveiling a potential gold-copper system at Pinaya in the middle of July.
Shares rose 10.00% on the news to $0.11 per share.
Currently there are 46.8m outstanding shares with a market cap of $5.1 million.
