FLYHT Aerospace Solutions (TSX:V.FLY, Stock Forum) celebrated today as the company announced that its partner, L-3 Aviation Recorders (“L-3 AR”) received format notification of certification for the L-3 Automated Flight Information Reporting System (“AFIRS”) 228S for the Airbus A320 line of aircraft.
According to the news release, the company first announced the certification deal back in May 2012 and has been working with L-3 AR ever since to develop and certify AFRIS' Iridium Satcom capability for the Airbus A320 family of aircraft.
The L-3 AFRIS 228S Iridium SATCOM system provides the cockpit crew with voice and data services for air traffic control, aeronautical operational control and air-to-air communication utilizing Iridium's global satellite network. It also provides ACARS (Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System) over Iridium messaging capability.
Company CEO, Bill Tempany, commented, “The final stage of certification was the in-service evaluation with a live customer and that was completed a short time ago. We are very pleased to have the formal notification of certification verified by our partner L-3 AR.”
FLYHT was in the news recently when the company announced the successful exercise of warrants at the end of June.
Shares were up 4.35% on the news to $0.36 per share.
Currently there are 169.7m outstanding shares with a market cap of $61.1 million.
