Agrium (T.AGU) plans US$720 million expansion of Texas nitrogen plant

CALGARY _ Fertilizer giant Agrium Inc. (TSX: T.AGU, Stock Forumsays it's planning a US$720-million expansion to its nitrogen plant in Borger, Texas.

The expansion project will add a new urea production unit of approximately 610,000 tonnes, of which 100,000 tonnes will be diesel emission fuel grade urea, the company said in a press release.

Agrium shares rose 0.49% to $101.28 Tuesday, leaving a market cap of $14.6 billion, based on 143.7 million shares outstanding. The 52-week range is $110.21 and $83.46.
