EDMONTON _ The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has signed a deal to invest $200 million as part of a joint venture to develop a 100-hectare industrial park northwest of Edmonton.

The pension fund manager will hold an 85 per cent stake in the joint venture with the WAM Development Group and Walton Group of Companies.

The industrial park will be developed in two phases, with the first one to break ground this summer.

CPPIB said WAM and Walton will build a total of about four million square feet of distribution and logistics warehousing on the property.
