As with recent quarters, there's not a lot to analyze here. The following was provided by the company:
Live3D - $6,029
Consumer - $91,880
Professional - $14,883
Total - $112,792
Of the $91,880 in Consumer Revenues, it looks like $26,204 came from realized revenues from the Samsung S2D deal, which leaves $65,676 from Vizio, etc. Still modest, but at least increasing:
If roughly $65k came from Vizio that would imply 130,000 3DTVs sold during the quarter if they are paying SIO $.50/TV. Or if you assume they got a "first mover" deal of
.25 then 260,000 TVs.
To give you an idea of what the potential is here both TCL and Hisense are expected to sell 4 million 3DTVs each this year. When SIO will start to see royalties from those is anyone's guess. And Samsung or LG would instantly be larger than TCL and Hisense. Sense just has to launch 3DGO one day to get these guys interested.
Advance Royalty Payments
Advance royalty payments remained unchanged at $533,718 vs. last quarter, so at least (so far) there hasn't been additional costs due to the delay in launching 3DGO (although that could change in the future).
