reasonable report all considering - nice to see SP holding ground. ESN reported their 1st quarter just now and made similar statements re: outlook for 2013 market |

From the BMO analyst on Q! results: Savanna reported Q1/13 diluted EPS of $0.32, slightly ahead with our expectation of $0.31 and matching consensus. Consolidated revenue of $237 million, above our forecast of $225 million, coupled with stronger ...

This is what the BMO analyst had to say about SVY after the Q4 2012 results: Savanna reported Q4/12 diluted EPS of $0.04, including a roughly $0.06 loss from an impairment charge. Excluding this, EPS of $0.10 matched our estimate but was below co...

I agree with ESN being a target but people have been saying that for years and it hasn't happened. You would think that they would get acquired at these prices as it is cheap but so far no luck. Maybe an acquirer is waiting to see what ESN do... |

Cash is an investment in cash. Everybody makes quantitative risk choices each and every day, of their lives. If you sit in cash, your faith is in the gov't treasury. Not "in God we trust", Mr godfather. With the devaluation of curre...

I only used RONA as an example of a company that is undervalued and exception to the ABC Funds overweight commodities. Lowes offer to Rona was $14/share (roughly 40% premium) Many shareholders are upset the offer was rejected. IMO if another offe... |

RONA was on my value screeners as well (pre Lowes bid) but I didn't invest. Could've had a 25% bump if I did (it's always the big IF isn't it??) IMO it was a prideful mistake that they didn't accept the offer and the share ...

I understand, but if you cant find value you sit on your cash and wait. He made a mistake chasing KGI, RPL, LEG, NGL. Commodities have run there course and I think will correct further now. I own SVY and I think there is value here but if oil goe... |

Godfather, It is a matter of perspective. After a 4yr rally off the lows of April 9th 2009. It is getting tough to find value. Michaels ferrets the quality companies. Yes there are more energy related stocks in the ABC crib. But that is where the...

Irwin is a good investor but he has been terrible over the past year. His portfolio's are invested heavily in energy stocks and I think that commodities are gonna still gonna come down further. If China's real estate bubble collapses, the... |

Both svy and esn are great value plays. I prefer to stick with one company per sector when it comes to value, so I chose svy. It seems to have a tighter chart pattern, imo and easier pivot points to work a position from. Just my personal approach...

Thanks for the HNL ref fmar - but the P/B and P/S ratios aren't there for me. I'm liking ESN as a possible acquisition too jackpine - the normal course issue bid was a strong factor for my buying decision on top of the other factors. Am... |

That goes without saying, paperbull. Irwin Michael (ABC Funds ) holds about 4.7 million shares and is as good a value investor as they come. My take is it's basing and as long as price holds the 2009 low, I'll keep getting paid to wait fo...

Dividend certainly helps - but in no way does it cover the $10.30 to current shareprice erosion of the last 2 years. The metrics for value investing are still there but it isn't a slam dunk - still involves risk.
