At one time Inco employed as much as 25% of the population of Sudbury, upwards of 30,000 employees. today, Vale and Xstrada combined employee only about 5100 people. The "Big Nickle" has lost a lot of it's shine.

Don't forget CN will be delivering oil from McMurray to the West Coast. Rail is federal juristiction, lets see Adrian Dix stop that! Should be a good dividend boost? |

Since I started investing in CNR, they have raised the dividend over 60% and along with some nice capital gains on the share price, it's been my best large cap investment choice by far. Steady as she goes, folks ! GLTA CNR Shareholders, M |

Yes, I know it's difficult to find, but try CN.CA, under Investors, Dividends. The quarterly dividend is 43 cent, and if it stays that way for the year would be 1.72. The last quarterly dividend, Q4 2012, was 37.5 cents, or 1.50 per year.

Could be true, but I can't find the news release. It's still $ 1.72 I think. |

And where has your head been. They just hiked the dividend for shareholders of record Mar 7 by 15%.

But not to worry long term. It just keeps chugging along, a dividend increase would be nice however. |

uchuck, don't be too hard on yourself. You cut your loss quickly which is a very disciplined thing to do. Today CNR found support at the 50day ma line. In hindsight I should have shorted CNR at the end of Feb. instead of CP which is stubbo...

bougfht in at $102, on the upside. got fed up, out now. Ignored my own advice to "not buy a shooting star," I try to wait a month or so to buy, but greed is the curse of a disciplined investor. |

Probably a good pair trade. Buy CNR, sell CP. CN trades at 16 times earnings, CP at 32 times earlings. I suspect that is what a lot of the CP shorts are about. |

in the Vancouver Sun, page C1. Possible much more container box traffic for CNR out of the U.S. Bring on the extra business. Fetch the article yourself, not your Librarian. Am Johnny-come-lately buyer on CNR, so hoping for lots more upside for CNR.
