Mr. Chris England reports

SILVER FIELDS ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Silver Fields Resources Inc. received shareholder approval at the annual general and special meeting held on Jan. 18, 2013, for all issues proposed by management. This includes approval to consolidate its issued and outstanding common shares on the basis of one new share for up to 10 common shares issued and outstanding. The share consolidation is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Shareholder approval of the board of directors included all former board members, with one notable exception -- that of James Laird, who, after a lengthy illness, passed late last year. Mr. Laird joined the board of Silver Fields almost 10 years ago and was instrumental in the acquisition of all of the company's British Columbia properties. His knowledge of geology and his prospecting skills were legendary, and those who came under his influence, including many senior geologists, government mining officials and the field personnel he trained, were almost too numerous to count.

He will be sadly missed by all of his many friends and colleagues.

In tribute to Mr. Laird, the Keremeos silver project will now be known as the James Laird silver project.

We seek Safe Harbor.
