"I fail to understand people that would hold a bad company because someone in sector is worse." It's simple and commonplace. It's a human response closely related to denial. Don't suppose you've ever met people in the workforce who make their own poor performance look better by pointing out people who look worse? Of course you have. It's also a favorite pumper ploy like using cartoon character icons to imply innocence or trust.  It's a lot easier to fool twice-hooked people than a twice-hooked fish. What does that tell you?
