Reely....Yes. There are at least three known methods. Solvent extraction, the current proven production technique, Solid Phase Extraction, which works at lab levels, and of course Orbite's patented table top exhibition of REE oxide extraction from shale clays which they say produced several grams of REE oxides. In addition there are also other versions that are equally unproven in a production setting. Companies have been extracting rare earth oxides from specific rare earth minerals such as Monazite, bastnasite, and others, including sands and tailings from titanium mining etc for many decades. It's not so much a secret that it can be done, but each deposit must have a "recipe" for it's initial process, which can be difficult to develop without experienced expertise in the application.
