The Ireland Conspiracy Theorist...busted...lol...
blueloop - I like that, "Fox in the hen house"! Yes, I think he now is the central figure behind the curtain. Doing some additional research on him I see that he is part of pure East Cost Establishment and a real Blue Blood. Even his marriage was announced in the New York Times! Anyone else on this board had the same? His connections to really big money and smart investors is extensive in that financial center of the world. Also check out his father and what he did. This swooping in and taking over with big money is in there genes. I am convinced that he and or his associates will be the deep pockets that want even deeper pockets and will act accordingly. No doubt on my part that bringing him in and the subsequent developments were all a part of the plan. Having to come out into the continental hinterland probably is felt to be beneath them. Look for the home base of what now is GWM to relocate to the more blue blood/civilized part of the continent. I think the only question is "WHEN" and how much will shareholders be allowed to benefit, given the virtual assurance of the great profits to be made by what now is GWM.

Right now the clearest harbinger of change that just might not be in shareholders’ best long term and financial interest would seem to be Mr. George Ring Ireland. Some even speculate he might take over at the helm of the company. Lord help shareholders if he does, IMO! This guy is a New York City blue blood! Didn’t you attend Phillips Academy, have your marriage announced in the New York Times, marry a monied wife with a MBA from an Ivy League school, and wasn't your great-great-great grandfather Secretary of State for President Lincoln (of Seward’s Folly fame)! He and his wife wouldn’t last a month in Saskatoon, SASKATCHEWAN! That is the western frontier, the colonies, to such blue bloods. I am betting this guy now is associated with GWM because he smells big money, and not just as a mere shareholder. He does have some experience with field geology but that was when he was a kid! His big area now appears to be “banking and venture capital”--the exact stuff that very well could grab control of GWM from shareholders. And don’t think he doesn’t have the connections to make dramatic GWM change happen real fast! Look at what happened to his daddy’s coal mining company! Management who added him to the board knew all of this. Read the writing on the wall folks, and don’t be so foolish as to think that GWG will be a 10-bagger that will allow you to have an early retirement! More than likely, it will make monied blue bloods even more wealthy. That is what the system is set up to do and that is the presumptive conclusion irrespective of waters’ thousands of pumping posts and rosy “projections”.
Then, again, I could be all wet. But as shareholders we have every right to speculate about our Board and the company's future. Taking over the company he just might learn to love the local Great Western Beer, having to fly for hours to get back to "civilization", learn to love "Hockey Nigh in Canada", Saskatoon's small town feel, and -40 degree winter temperatures!

His father is founder and honorary chairman of the Peerless Eagle Coal Company in Summersville, W.Va., now a division of the Fluor Corporation. Nova: What I am talking about has nothing to do with a conspiracy:
con·spir·a·cy (kn-spîr-s)n. pl. con·spir·a·cies
1. An agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.
2. A group of conspirators.
3. Law An agreement between two or more persons to commit a crime or accomplish a legal purpose through illegal action.
4. A joining or acting together, as if by sinister design
What I am talking about is how the system works. Totally in the open and all totally legal. To me where this is headed is getting clearer by the week. If people don't want to even entertain the idea, that is not all surprising and is exactly what I expect as a response. That is fine. These message boards are kind of like fan pages for professional sports teams! We are the best and we are going to win! But, again, people forget to realize that also is just big business and when the team owner can make more money elsewhere, then they move on to greener pasture--screw the loyal hometown fans. People, we live in a world ruled by corporation and big money.
