The area hot, targeted by the VTEM survey covers more than 12 kilometres

along the regional Sunday Lake Fault and is located less than

2 kilometres south of recent gold discoveries by

Balmoral Resources Ltd in the Bug Lake, ME16/23 and Martiniere East zones

Early Stage Gold Exploration
Mattagami Region, Quebec

  • Property covers over 30 kilometres of the Detour/Sunday Lake deformation zone
  • Initial drill testing led to the discovery of a new zone of gold mineralization -- Grasset discovery which shares similarities with the Detour Gold deposit 80 kilometres to the east in a similar geological setting
  • Road accessible located 3 kilometres from Fenelon base camp and 9 kilometres from Fenelon Zone
  • Follow-up drilling underway
  • Numerous untested geophysical and geological anomalies located along and adjacent to major regional deformation zone
  • Balmoral holds a 100% interest in the Grasset Property

The Grasset Property is located about 600 kilometres northwest of Montreal, Quebec along the Detour-Sunday Lake Deformation Zone which hosts the Detour Lake Gold deposit 80 kilometres to the west. Balmoral Resources acquired the Grasset property by staking in late 2010 and early 2011. The Grasset property is accessed via a series of recent logging roads and exploration work on the property is conducted out of the Companies Fenelon exploration camp located approximately 3 kilometres west of the property

The Grasset property stretches for over 30 kilometres along the Detour/Sunday Lake deformation zone and covers a portion of the eastern extension of the Lower Detour deformation zone. Historic work on the property has been very limited, confined mainly to the drilling of geophysical features beneath extensive overburden cover. Minor gold mineralization was identified during the 1970's in quartz veins near Lac Grasset.

The last hole of the winter 2011 drill program, focused primarily on the adjacent Fenelon property, tested a target along the Detour/Sunday Lake deformation zone which was modelled in gold deposit in the Timmins and Kirkland Lake camps located within the southern portion of the Abitibi greenstone belt. This hole led to the discovery of gold mineralization in a setting strongly analogous to the Pamour deposit in the Timmins camp and sharing many similarities with the Detour Gold deposit itself.
