Actually, life at he QR Mine isn't good, Chilly. It was closed from November 2011 until now. They would never have mothballed a profitable mine, that could have supplied much needed cash flow. The mine is now in a condition of impairment, where the carrying value (what it's worth on the books) exceeds the recovery amount ( how much it can earn in the real world). The carrying value is $1,616,292 according to the June 28 financial statements, note 12, page 29. The threshold to pass the impairment test is a grade of 3.51 g/t and $1,709 for the price of gold. With a grade of 3.264 g/t and gold price $1,680 t oz, it fails on both counts. Will the numbers change in the future? That remains to be seen.
