Reports coming out that there has been a gas leak on the Cormorant rig....

Rig workers evacuated in gas alert

More than 90 workers have been evacuated from a North Sea oil platform when a gas leak was detected.

Staff were removed from the Northern Cormorant rig, about 100 miles north-east of Lerwick, Shetland, when the alarm was raised at about 5.15am on Sunday.

Operator TAQA Bratani said 92 people were taken to an installation nearby, with 38 then transferred to shore because of a lack of accommodation.

It said 203 workers remained on the Cormorant platform and that everyone was "safe and well".

The platform was shut down as a precautionary measure but the gas release was now said to have stopped.

Fortunately nobody hurt, leak stopped. All being well and assuming no critical process involving Antrim(like CE installation), then hopefully just a minor delay.
