An Alberta judge overturned the directive of the Alberta Environmental agency that excluded representation from an environmental group during the assessemnt opf Southern Pacific McKay project.  The consequences are still unfolding.  A spokesperson for the Environmental agency said "As a result of the ruling we are preparing a new assessment for this [Southern Pacific] project...."

I doubt this could stop Southern Pacific's current operations, but one can never be sure.  Most certainly, it will affect Phase 2.
