This poster on SI is completely out in left field with those comments.
RED MUD is the problem that needs to be fixed..everything else that comes from it while processing it is a win win for mostly the alumina producer depending certainly on geography.
But for places like europe and other developed countries.
1- Recoup of presently unusable land.
2- reduction of insurance.
3-Reaching enviromental targets set by governments
4- Usable and saleable products that can be partnered with VEOLIA as they will determine.
I am sure there are others, but that poster has a very miopic and irrational view if he means what he posted.
