HALIFAX, Nov. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - DHX Media Ltd ("DHX") (TSX:DHX.TO - News), a leading independent international producer, distributor and licensor of mainly children's entertainment content, has partnered with Amazon's European digital media subsidiary on a non-exclusive SVOD UK license adding close to 1,000 half hours, to their existing offering, of DHX's classic children's TV shows such as Inspector Gadget and Dennis The Menace.

The SVOD service is provided through Amazon's European digital media subsidiary, LOVEFiLM - Europe's largest subscription service. The subscription video on demand (SVOD) deal will offer members access to thousands of new, premium quality children's TV series from DHX's extensive library such as Mona the Vampire, Paddington Bear and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Michael Donovan, CEO at DHX, said: "We are delighted to offer LOVEFiLM members access to our award-winning kids programmes. Just like LOVEFiLM we are market leaders and DHX Media's shows already air on some of the top European broadcast destinations, so this is a natural partnership."

Jim Buckle, Managing Director at LOVEFiLM, commented: "DHX Media has created some of the best children's TV of recent years and we are pleased to offer our members access to their shows. We are noticing that more of our customers than ever before are using our streaming service as a quick and easy way to entertain their families, so naturally the addition of shows such as Mona the Vampire and Paddington Bear is an exciting prospect for us."
