The International Speculator, in its Nov. 5, 2012, issue, refreshes its buy of Carpathian Gold Inc. at 30 cents, officially, "Best buy." The newsletter said buy on Dec. 1, 2011, at 43.5 cents, and again on June 6, 2012, at 33 cents. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the two buys, the $2,000 holding is worth $1,582. The writer goes over the press releases and does not find much in the way of talking points. The big news is that Louis James, Casey Research's "senior metals investment strategist," is scheduled to pay a visit to Riacho Dos Machados gold mine in Brazil, currently under construction. Based on the writer's past musings, Carpathian's "geos" can expect a "grilling" from the strategist. Riacho Dos Machados boasts 1.5 million ounces of gold. In Romania, Carpathian has a resource of 7.2 million ounces measured and indicated at its Rovina Valley gold project. He says investors get that asset for free while the company continues building RDM in Brazil. In a recent issue, the writer blamed the problem on Romania's "shaky" political situation. While he has expressed concerns about Rovina's low grade, Barrick Gold Corp. likes the project enough to have taken a $20-million private placement.
