The title of this article is misleading, as on first glance it suggests the American DoD is only going to be using crippled Apple devices, but the author's intent is to show that the only iPhones and iPads allowed by the military will be crippled by a lot of restrictions. The key takeaway for the author (and for me) is that all new Apple and Samsung devices allowed for use by DoD personnel must be connected to a Mobile Device Management solution -- and "Currently the only approved MDM is BlackBerry Enterprise Service." (With the exception of the approximately 5,000 devices being deployed in the cross-platform trial program run by Fixmo.)
