NCR to acquire Retalix for $30 a share

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- NCR Corp. /quotes/zigman/170956/quotes/nls/ncr NCR +1.38% said late Wednesday it agreed to acquire Israel-based Retalix Ltd. /quotes/zigman/63754/quotes/nls/rtlx RTLX +0.24% IL:RTLX +0.72% for $30 a share, or $650 million. Shares of both NCR and Retalix were halted less than an hour before the close after shares of Retalix jumped nearly 35% to $29.50 ahead of the news. Retalix makes software for high-volume retailers, while NCR makes hardware for retailers. Shares of Retalix are scheduled to be unhalted at 4:30 p.m. Eastern. NCR expects the deal to close in the first quarter and add to its adjusted earnings in 2013.
