2011 was a record year for the Saskatchewan economy. It appears our province will lead the nation in economic growth in 2012 as well.
RBC and the Conference Board of Canada both predict Saskatchewan will see economic growth of around 5 per cent next year, which is higher than any other province.
Much of the growth can be attributed to the booming potash sector. Nearly $17 billion was invested in Saskatchewan's potash industry in 2011, which is also a new record.
Saskatchewan is also being ranked number one in the nation for residential construction, building permits, exports, and retail sales.
