VULCAN MINERALS INC. - DISTRIBUTION RECORD DATE

The record date for the distribution by Vulcan Minerals Inc. of one share of Red Moon Potash Inc. for every 3.835 shares held in Vulcan has been set for Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012. These shares are being distributed as a result of a plan of arrangement involving the spinout of Red Moon, a new subsidiary company focused on potash/salt exploration and development in western Newfoundland. Final closing is expected to occur on or about Aug. 15, 2012, listing will be subject to final TSX Venture Exchange approval.
