HRT has announced that its subsidiary HRT O&G submitted to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis - ANP), Notice of Discovery of gas shows in well 1-HRT-10-AM. Based on mud logging gas detection and Logging While Drilling (LWD) data, four gas-bearing reservoir intervals were identified in the Juruá Formation, the main target of this well, between 2,110 and 2,260 meters of depth.
The well was spudded on October 22, 2012 and after drilling through the main reservoirs it is currently being drilled at 2,360 meters in Devonian sedimentary rocks. After reaching the basement, the well will be logged and cased so that formation tests can be run to evaluate the type of hydrocarbon and the production potential of the reservoirs. This well located in the south of Block SOL-T-192 confirms the extension of hydrocarbon accumulations in the Solimões Basin to the south of previously known occurrences and confirms the basin potential for new discoveries.
HRT holds 21 blocks in the Solimoes Basin, Brazil
The well 1-HRT-10-AM is being drilled by QG-VIII, Queiroz Galvão drilling rig, and has a final depth forecast at around 2,680 meters, 20 meters inside basement rocks. HRT is exploring the Solimões Basin in partnership with TNK-Brasil, a subsidiary of TNK-BP.
