The blockage is real, but I think that picture that IKN posted is not from the area, it looks more like the coast of Peru, I would guess that picture is from the blockages around the Nazca/Pisco area a few months ago...If you want to get an idea of how the area looks, take a look at this video, you can even see Barrios himself! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=E9jjI6AhZ4g#! 

The true is that the area is so isolated is is hard even for local reporters to access it...most of the news yesterday and today from the area were reported via phone....hostages were released but local sources say there is a group of people marching towards the camp area.....
