Venture Contrarian Prospecting

A contrarian believes that certain crowd behavior among investors can lead to exploitable mispricings in stocks.

Keeping a Trading Journal

What to do with a reverse split?

On a side note: 10:55 am  - Level two quotes not working over at RBC Direct Investing since the start of trading today. Not Sure if this is market wide. Am trading blind for time being. - Have incurred sales per my "Activity Page" but level two platform not showing any changes in bids or asks.

Within my overall portfolio trading strategy is to complete same day trades or within 3 days.

As I like to complete channel trading, a constant irritant is finding new prospects once I've sold my position in a stock and am waiting for it to re-dip. So where does one find prospects?

I do not want to tie up much of my capital in an effort to make a quick $50 to $150 profit on a trade and I want to spread my chips on the board - so to speak.

What works for me is finding stocks that trade between 3 to 15 cents and buy 12,000 to 30,000 shares and sell with a 1/2 to 1 penny move.

That said, I still need to find prospects.

The only Canadian business paper that lists winner/loser stocks under $1 is the National/Financial Post.

Here I look up the Venture Losers under a $1 - with a contrarian investing point of view of there might be some exposed nuggets for quick pickings.

I find new channel trading stocks that otherwise may never show up on my radar.

Its important that I look at the stock's chart to determine this and knowing that the stock has a good/constant trading volume.

A red flag is to stay away from downward trending stocks - unless you're shorting.

Keep in mind that trading penny stocks have a high risk/reward outcome. You need a trading strategy and you need to stick to it ( and complete your due diligence). Keep a trading journal and document why you pick the stocks you pick.

Happy trading to all
