BCGold has earned a 51% interest in the Sickle-Sofia Property, in the Toodoggone district in north-central British Columbia, by way of an option agreement with Stealth Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: SML).
The Sickle-Sophia Property is located just north of the Kemess South Mine, situated approximately 400 kilometres north of Mackenzie, British Columbia. The Toodoggone district has excellent mineral exploration potential; it hosts a number of developed and undeveloped epithermal gold-silver and porphyry copper-gold deposits, as well as Northgate Minerals' 50,000 tonne per day Kemess South mine. The Kemess South mine is one of B.C.'s larger porphyry copper-gold deposits and is one of Canada's largest mines by throughput.
The Voigtberg Property covers approximately 29 square kilometres in northwestern British Columbia. The Property is located 130 kilometres northwest of Stewart and 40 kilometres east of the Galore Creek Copper-Gold-Silver (Cu-Au-Ag) deposit, owned by NovaGold Inc. and Teck-Cominco Ltd. The Galore Creek deposit is one of the largest, and highest-grade, undeveloped porphyry-related copper-gold-silver deposits in North America.
