I generally have a focus on small cap base metal and precious metal mining stocks. I will occasionally day trade, but with most of the companies I own, I generally take a position in the early stages of exploration, taking profits along the way to gain leverage on the share price and lower my risk exposure. I watch for changes within the company and will add or reduce my position based on results and fundamentals. I am not a licensed professional and will not take responsibility for your trading activity.

It has been quite a while since I last updated my Blog, but quite frankly the junior mining stocks that I owned. were not really moving and were in a pretty ugly downtrend..Recently, however market conditions have improved towards the sector, and there seems to be a rejuvenated interest amongst investors. Keep in mind, I do have other company holdings within my portfolio, these however are my largest positions at this point in time...
1. STRIKE MINERALS V.STK .14 CENTS
Company is just trading off it's 52 week high, and has had strong trading volumes the past few trading sessions. Stock currently sits at a closing price it has not held for almost 7 years, The reason for this is pretty evident, and it appears the market has began to take notice of the companies assets and "hidden value". The most notable one being, the "dewatering" of the past producing Edwards Mine in Wawa, Ontario. Between 1996 and 2001, 145,000 oz's were produced. The mine was shut down due to a low gold price and poor economics and was sold to Strike. Initial production could start by late 2012. The "Cashflow" from this project could be used to finance further exploration within the companies existing potfolio of properties (Hemlo West is located on the same greenstone belt as GTA Minerals) additional claims could also be purchased, which would add considerable value to the companies holdings..
2. LA MANCHA RESOURCES T.LMA $3.79
This company is an international gold producer with production operations, development projects and exploration activities in Africa, Australia and Argentina. This company is my newest "long term hold". La Mancha's Hassai property, is a world-class asset. Moreover, this new resource, most of which is from two pits out of a potential 12, already ranks amongst the largest and richest VMS deposits in the world, while its potential remains largely untested. The company produced 32,428 ounces of gold in Q1 this year. The company is on target to quickly become an intermediate producer, with 200,000 ounces of gold per year produced by 2013 and 350,000 ounces by 2015.
3. GLASS EARTH GOLD INC. V.GEL .34.5
This company is located in a different gold bearing region..New Zealand. The company holds numerous permits in the region.. covering over 9,000 square kilometres, Key land positions beside New Zealand's major gold producers, including a joint venture with Newmont Mining, the property is adjacent to their 10 Million oz Martha Hill mine, the company has identified another deposit with the hallmarks of OceanaGold's 7 Million oz Macraes Mine in CentraOtago.
4.ROXGOLD INC. V.ROG $1.94
Recent private placement at $1.85 raised an eye catching $25.9 million dollars. Company has continued to hit "pay dirt" in Burkina Faso with exceptional grades at shallow depths and drilling continues at a frantic pace, there will be no shortage of news with this play. Roxgold has hired Boart Longyear for an additional 35,000 meters of core drilling, 3 core drill rigs are currently at work at the 55 Zone. They are currently producing about 300 meters of core in a 24 hour period. Additionally, 15,000 meters of reverse circulation (RC) drilling has been contracted for testing of geochemical anomalies on the Yaramoko Permit. Two RAB drills on a 20,000 meter contract are currently detailing soil anomalies. This company appears to have a huge multi million ounce discovery on their hands.
TEMBO GOLD CORP. V.TEM $1.79
February 22, 2012 saw the company’s IPO and Tembo is now ready to embark upon a 12 month, 87,000 metre combined RC and diamond drilling program on its flagship Tembo Gold property. The Tembo Gold property is located adjacent and along strike to African Barrick’s 20 million ounce Bulyanhulu Gold Mine in the prolific Lake Victoria Greenstone Belt, an established mining camp boasting 50 million ounces of gold resources. The African Barrick mine, the success that it is, extends to the north and west onto the Tembo project. Although Tembo is still in the very early stages of exploration, the pedigree of property location should not be ignored with this play..
