Time for the Commonwealth to send aid to our friends Down under...hopefully Canada is one of the countries that "insists on sending aid" of all forms, clean water technology, air support, health people...whatever is necessary to aid the situation.
Having just returned from a lengthy winter break in warmer climes, I am just catching up on some of mother natures recent events in Australia...unbelievable...while the river in Canberra,(Brisbane River) appears to have peaked, the situation looks far from under control as 20,000 residences are flooded.
Here is a link updating the rural situation...ABC rural...
Here is another link updating the flood,ABC...
I will continue to add information as the story here progresses.
As with most natural disasters of this magnitude, aid will and should be sent, but please be aware that ruthless people will exploit or tarnish the true meaning of the charities that are set up to aid the people in need of our support.
Good luck to our friends in Australia and may the situation move to a better footing very soon.
