Some people like to collect sea shells, I like to collect company shells. I find it profitable to slowly and patiently accumulate shell companies and then wait for them to put in a deal. These shells can often be very cheap, costing as little as a few cents. Then, when the ones running the shell put in a deal the shell moves up substantially on news. Often times a shell such as a '.p' will be halted for a couple of months when a transaction comes in.
My two recent favourite shells have been EES.H and OLA.P EES is Ecomax, OLA.P is Olympic Resources. Both have now announced deals coming into these shells and my patience seems to have paid off.
Always be careful when you collect shells, there's no guarantee that a deal will come in or a shell might never move and possibly even de-list.
