--5-Year Contract for the National Roll Out of Instant Tickets
NEW YORK, Nov 05, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Scientific Games Corporation (Nasdaq: SGMS) announced it has been selected as the exclusive supplier of instant tickets, marketing services and validation systems to the Pacific Online Systems Corporation ("Pacific Online") in the Philippines. The contract commenced September 2009, has an initial term of five years and includes a two-year contract extension option.
The contract covers the national roll out of instant tickets in the Philippines after a successful market test. The Philippines is the world's 12th most populous country, with an estimated population of approximately 92 million people.Pacific Online Systems Corporation engages in the design, development, and management of online computer systems, terminals and software for the gaming industry in the Philippines. It brokers technology from various suppliers of integrated gaming systems and leases the equipment needed to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office ("PCSO") for its on-line lottery operations in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. The PCSO has been described as the government's charity arm, with its primary goals to finance health programs, render medical assistance and services to the disadvantaged sectors of society and perform charitable work. It is also mandated to develop community health care in regional hospitals throughout the country through TB, cancer and dialysis centers. Since the introduction of lotteries, the PCSO has been able to expand its services to victims of natural and man-made disasters.
