VANCOUVER, B.C. - Western Coal Corp. (TSX:WTN) said Monday a proposed class action lawsuit has been filed in Ontario Superior Court alleging inaccurate disclosure in company's second-quarter financial report in 2007.

The company said it believes "the allegations are without merit and intends to vigorously defend them as well as the plaintiff's attempt to obtain court approval to proceed with the action."

Western is a producer of metallurgical and thermal coal from mines located in British Columbia and West Virginia.
