Junior miner powers higher on copper drill results

TORONTO (SHfn) – Polar Star Mining (TSX: T.PSR, Stock Forum) shares surged 29% to $2.91 on Wednesday after the copper junior announced assay results from five additional holes drilled in Zones A and B at its wholly-owned Montezuma Project in Chile as part of its ongoing program of diamond drilling. Discovery intercepts included 100 metres of 0.51% copper equivalent (Cu Eq) in Hole 33, Zone A and 44 metres of 0.66% Cu Eq in Hole 38, Zone B.

As well, shares of Uranium North Resources (TSX: V.UNR, Stock Forum) gained 60% to 28 cents as the micro cap explorer reported gold, silver and copper results on its 100% owned Nowyak property in Nunavut. Surface grab samples have yielded values as high as 32.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 1,350 g/t silver, and 4.2% copper.

Meanwhile, Oromin Explorations (TSX: T.OLE, Stock Forum), on behalf of Oromin Joint Venture Group Limited (OJVG), provided a further update to its drilling program at the OJVG Gold Project in Senegal, West Africa. Drill results included 46.04 g/t gold over 11 metres (396 to 407 metres) in DH-927 at Golouma West. Oromin stock popped 18% to $1.19.

Shares of ID Watchdog (TSX: V.IDW, Stock Forum) rose 30% to 13 cents after the provider of consumer-facing identity theft protection and resolution services announced that it has signed a product development and distribution agreement with AVAST Software. Under the terms of the agreement, AVAST will integrate ID Watchdog's free credit alert feature into future versions of its software suite in the U.S. market.

And, TintinaGold Resources (TSX: V.TAU, Stock Forum) Tuesday said it has confirmed the presence of a Middle Copper Zone on its Sheep Creek Copper-Cobalt-Silver property in Montana, which included 46.6 meters grading 2.56% copper, 0.11% cobalt, and 13.5 g/t silver. TintinaGold shares jumped 17% to 70 cents.
