Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Wednesday, March 17, 2010
TORONTO (SHfn) – New Dawn Mining (TSX: T.ND, Stock Forum) shares surged 12% to $1.15 after the micro cap miner reported that gold production at its Turk Mine in Zimbabwe for February 2010 increased by 6.3%, to 1,234 ounces or 38.4 kg's, as compared to 1,160 ounces or 36.1 kg's produced in January 2010. The increase was attributable primarily to increased tonnages treated at New Dawn's 580 tonne per day processing facility. The increase in tonnage treated reflects the impact of New Dawn's expanded mining and development program.
As well, shares of Ondine Biopharma (TSX: T.OBP, Stock Forum) gained 100% to 10 cents as the medical technology firm developing photodisinfection-based products announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has formally accepted for filing the company's Pre-Market Approval (PMA) application for the Periowave Photodisinfection System for the treatment of chronic periodontitis in adults as an adjunct to standard methods of care. The FDA's action means that the PMA application is sufficiently complete and ready for substantive review.

Bennett Environmental (TSX: T.BEV, Stock Forum) stock, meanwhile, continued to move higher Wednesday, up 9% to $3.25 after a 22% gain on Tuesday. Late Tuesday Bennett reported fiscal 2009 revenue of $28.1 million, while after-tax income was $15.3 million and earnings per share were 55 cents on a fully diluted basis. In fiscal 2008, the company posted revenue of $8.3 million and a per-share loss of 16 cents.
And, shares of NeuLion (TSX: T.NLN, Stock Forum) climbed 21% to 63 cents after the end-to-end IPTV service provider of live and on-demand sports reported fourth-quarter revenue of $9.0 million, up 55% from $5.8 million during the same period last year, while its net loss for the quarter was $1.5 million, or a penny a share, compared with a loss $7.2 million, or 13 cents a share, a year ago.
