While a copper mine deal boosted a small explorer Tuesday

TORONTO (SHfn) – Lydian International (TSX: T.LYD, Stock Forum) shares jumped 11% to $1.98 on Tuesday after the miner reported further results from resource upgrade and extension drilling at its Amulsar gold discovery in Armenia, which included 95 meters at 1.7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold. Amulsar is a high-sulfidation style gold project that currently hosts a CIM compliant Inferred Category Resource of 1.4 million ounces at 0.9 g/t gold.
As well, shares of ICN Resources (TSX: V.ICN, Stock Forum) moved up 15% to 27 cents as the junior explorer announced the 100% acquisition of 358 unpatented lode mining claims. The claims cover approximately 3000 hectares and lie along the west flank of the Slumbering Hills in Humboldt County, Nevada. These claims are located between the well-known Sleeper Mine (Paramount Gold & Silver Corp.) and the newly-discovered mineralization at the Sandman Project (Fronteer Gold - Newmont Mining JV).
Castle Resources (TSX: V.CRI, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported that it has signed a binding letter agreement with Bell Copper Corporation (TSX: V.BCU, Stock Forum) to acquire a 100% interest in the past producing Granduc Copper Mine located near Stewart, British Columbia, for a consideration of $2 million and 2.75 million Castle Resources shares. Castle stock popped 13% to 21.5 cents.
And, Skyline Gold (TSX: V.SK, Stock Forum) Tuesday announced that Mr. Patrick Soares has been appointed as a member of its Board of Directors. Mr. Soares most recently served as the President and CEO of Brett Resources, which grew the Hammond Reef resource from 1.8 million ounces to more than 6.7 million ounces of gold and increased Brett's market capitalization from approximately $54 million to about $444 million in May 2010, when Brett was acquired by Osisko Mining Corp. Skyline shares climbed 19% to 25 cents.
