Green stocks continued to attract investor interest Thursday, while one firm's financials were 'rock' solid.

TORONTO (SHfn) - Green stocks continued to attract investor interest Thursday, while one firm's financials were 'rock' solid.

China Technology Development (NASDAQ: CTDC, Bullboard) shares soared 28% to $6.40 on Thursday after the provider of solar energy products announced that the engineering team of China Merchants Zhangzhou Development Zone Trenda Solar Energy, its wholly-owned subsidiary, has successfully concluded the testing of its first SnO2 production line. SnO2 solar base plate is a type of transparent conductive oxide substrate of amorphous silicon, or thin film solar cells.

As well, shares of Gibraltar Industries (NASDAQ: ROCK, Bullboard) shot up 28% to $14.12 as the residential and commercial building products provider posted first-quarter earnings of $6.7 million, or 22 cents a share, compared with $6.2 million, or 21 cents a share, a year ago. Analysts expected 14 cents a share.

Frozen foods provider Overhill Farms (AMEX: OFI, Bullboard), meanwhile, reported a 44% surge in second-quarter revenue to $66.45 million. Net income for the period was $3,172,000, or 20 cents a share, an increase of 263% from $875,000, or six cents a share, a year earlier. Overhill stock popped 24% to $6.25.

And, shares of BIOLASE Technology (NASDAQ: BLTI, Bullboard) jumped 16% to $2.90 after the dental laser firm reported first-quarter revenue of $19.0 million, up 26% from $15.1 million during the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $26,000, or breakeven on a per-share basis, compared with a net loss of $1.7 million, or seven cents a diluted share, a year ago. Top U.S. Small/Micro-cap Decliners
